Charles Connelly, 80, of 2010 Minton St., Murphysboro, died Thursday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
He was born Sept, 21, 1894, in Iuka, Ill., to Christopher and Lucy Smith Connelly.
On April 3, 1926, in Murphysboro, he married Mary Riggs.
He was a member of the UMWA. He was a retired coal miner.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Charles A. and Keith, both of Murphysboro, a daughter, Rosemary Stearns of Murphysboro; a brother, Harry of Murphysboro; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
