Augusta (Gmeindl) Bruzik, 94, of New Britain, died Thursday at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late August and Theresa (Poglitsch) Gmeindl, she was a life long resident. She was the widow of Michael Bruzik. A long time active member of St. Peter Church, she was also a member of the New Britain Senior Center.

She was predeceased by two brothers Charles Gmeindl and Frank Gmeindl; and three sisters Anna Poglitch, Rose Ochankowski and Pauline Borkowski.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter Church 98 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051 or to Alzheimer's Association 279 New Britain Road Kensington, CT 06037. Augusta's family would like to thank the staff of Brittany Farms Health Care, station #3, for their care and concern for Augusta.
