A religious service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow for Vories Cheramie, 96, a native and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 7:51 a.m. Monday.
Visitation will be from 2 to 11 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. until Funeral time Wednesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
He was the husband of Lucretia Gaspard Cheramie; father of Linwood, LaBray, Vories Jr. and Roy Cheramie, Pearl Orgeron, Willa Blair and Lola Crochet; brother of Lelian St. Pierre and Lelia Cheramie. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gloris Cheramie; his parents, Eulalie Callais and Ovide Cheramie; brothers, Clovis, Walzie, Antoine, Morris, Louis, Torres and Duroc Cheramie; and sisters, Hazel Terrebonne and Anna Felorise.
