Mrs. Ravare, age 65, of Marksville, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2010 in Marksville.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Evelyn Batiste; son, Kevin John Ford; brother, Raymond Batiste; husbands, Alvin Ford, Jr., and Morris Ravare, Sr.
She is survived by one son, Christopher Batiste of Marksville; four brothers, Eldon Batiste, Sr., of Cocoville, Martin Batiste of Los Angeles, California, Russell Batiste of Salinas, California and Bruce Batiste of Germany; three sisters, Gloria Andrews of Marksville, Juliette Batiste of Marksville and Jacqueline Gibson of Gretna; one grandchild, LaTia Evans; and one greatgrandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation will be held in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday until shortly before service time. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday in the chapel.
Pallbearers for the funeral service will be Phildren Andrews, Jr., Charles Batiste, Phildren Tibbs, Eric Robertson, Michael Simon, Anthony Simon, Tony Batiste, and James Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Batiste, Martin Batiste, Bruce Batiste, Eldon Batiste, Sr., Weldon Simon, Christopher Batiste and Phildren Andrews, Sr.
