Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Elaine Burton Hansen, passed away on June 24, 2013, at the age of sixty-nine, after a long illness, surrounded by her family and friends.

Elaine was born in Salt Lake City to Harold and Blanche Burton. She attended Highland High School in Salt Lake City and graduated in 1962.

She was married to Frank Hansen in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June, 28, 1966. She went on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah and worked as an elementary school teacher for both Granite and Jordan school districts. Elaine later went on to complete post-graduate work in child psychology and worked as a school psychologist for Jordan School District.

Outside her work inside the school, she donated time for family therapy as a part of a community education program. A perfect day for Elaine was a large Diet Coke and playing with her ten grandchildren. She enjoyed beating her sons at tennis, shopping with her daughters, playing card games, and telling everyone how smart her grandchildren have become. She also enjoyed the time she spent as a temple worker at the Jordan River Temple and traveling with friends.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Blanche Burton.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Frank; two daughters, Kimberly (Bryan) Nelson and Laurel (John) Porter; two sons, Matthew (Stefanie) Hansen and Jacob (Stacey) Hansen; and her ten loved and cherished grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, H. David (Barbara) Burton, and sister, Nola (Keith) Davies.

Funeral services will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation an hour before the services.
Burial will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
