Evelyn Goforth, 83, of Williams died September 28, 2001 at her residence. Born in Red Bluff, she was a midvalley resident for 52 years, previously living in the Mendocino County area. She was named first "Lady of the Year" for Williams in 1993 and was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Williams Community Church.
Survivors include two sons, David of Williams, and Moe of Redwood Valley, two daughters, Jane of Williams and Diane of Chico, 14 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, a daughter Carol Orlich and a brother, Mervyn Jones.
