Miss Virginia C. Ravenscroft was born at Versailles, Illinois, and died in Griggsville, Ill., Feb. 2, 1894. Katie had been a great sufferer, especdially the last two years of her life - though in childhood was exceptionally healthy. Then about sixteen years of age went to Monticello Seminary to school, where her health failed, not being able to be in school the next year. The ear following was compelled to leave school in the spring on account of her health. On reaching home was taken down with a spell of illness which lasted more than three months. On recovering her hearing was affected and she was trouble with catarrh in the head. The last two years it seemed as though the catarrh had affected her stomach. The best physicians in several cities were consulted and having taken treatment the last year with no permanent help. The latter part of September was taken down to her bed - though always hopeful and better at times. Was able to leave home Dec. 23rd, expecting to build up and go elsewhere for other medical treatment.
On Sunday, Jan. 18th, the family were called to her bedside. Though life was dear to "Cattie" she ralized her time had come and her regret was "to leave ma."
