Son of James P. Staton and Nancy E.Smithson
2 Wives:Bessie Irma Carden died Aug 1928 at 38 yrs old,
married Cecile Davis Aug 1929.
1930 Census Cecile daughter Freda Hillman and Dell's son Dell 9 yrs old is living in home.
Children:James,Ellen,Louise,Infant death,Dell Carden,Carolyn.

Fayetteville District magistrate for 12 years.
He was a Coal Mining Foreman at the time of his death.
A newspaper article stated he was killed in a argument over politics.He was killed by another worker at the mine.
His funeral sevice was at Oak Hill Baptist.
It was one of the most largely attended services ever held there.
Cause of Death: Gunshot (pistol) wound to the left chest on November 25, 1934
