Charles Snyder, 90, Dennis Road, Bloomsburg R.D.2, N.J., formerly of Stewartsville N.J., died yesterday in the Hunterdon Medical Center. Mr.Snyder worked with his father on the Morris Canal, operating a canal boat, in his early years. He later was a machinist for the Edison Cement Co., Brass Castle, and for Ingersoll Rand Co, in its Cameron divison. He retired in 1956.
Born in Brass Castle, he was a son of the late Emanuel and Christina Kries Snyder. He was a member and elder of Stewartsville Presbyterian Church and a member of American Advocate Counsil 64, Sons and Daughters of Liberty, Washington. He was a Boy Scott committeeman in the 30's and at one time was manager coach of the Stewartsville Meteors baseball team.
His wife was the late Evona Cool Snyder who died in 1956. Survivors include a son, Paul, with whom he lived; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the W. E. Johnson Funeral Home, Milford R.D.1. Interment will be in Stewartsville Presbyterian Cemetery.
