During all those years his loving companion and surviving children did all they could for his comfort and welfare. But there is a time when all the ministration of earthly friends fil, and the soul bids farewell to eathly surroundings and goes to join that great majority who have passed on, and are waiting to welcome it to the land of eternal reaistics. Thus on the morning of the 15th of March 1892, did our friend pass peacefully and quietly through the dark valley to wake up on the other shore and receive the glad greeting from his children and friends. Funeral services were held of mourning relatives and sorrowing friends, were deposited in family lot in Oakland Cemetery near Centerville, Ia. He was not a member of any earthly church but in is relationship with his fellow man, he demonstrated in his life and character, the sublime precept of Jesus, when he said, "inasmuch as you did it unto the least of these my disciples, you did it unto me.".
