CHARLES R. MOORE

Charles R. "Charlie" Moore, 69, of Core, WV died Saturday, April 30, 2011 at his residence.

He was born January 24, 1942 at Daybrook, a son of the late John M. Moore and Flossie Bane Moore.

Charlie was a retired coal miner with several years of service mainly at the Eastern Associated Coal Corporation Federal No. 2 Mine.

Mr. Moore was a member of the MacDale Church of Christ.

In his younger years he loved playing fast pitch softball. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and riding his 4 wheeler.

Surviving are one son, Curtis Moore of Core; one daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Brad Holmes of Jakes Run; one brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Melanie Moore of Core; four sisters, Lula Mae Cutlip of Fairview, Jean Milliron and husband Marvin of Core, Linda Barr and husband Bill of Daybrook, and Sue Delaney of Moorefield; and two grandchildren, Travis Holmes and Candace Holmes

Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, Linda Joyce Moore, whom he married on December 7, 1963 and who died on July 20, 2008; three brothers, Ted Reese, John Junior Moore, and Donald E. Moore; and one sister Ruby Ammons.

Friends and family may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
