Conner Hughes Sturgis, age 27, of Dyersburg died Sunday, October 21 at the The Med (Regional Medical Center) in Memphis.
He was the son of Tina Louise McDonald Sturgis of Dyersburg and Lee Lofton Sturgis of Marlow, OK. He was a member of the New Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Kelda Wiliamson Sturgis of Dyersburg, two sons, Aven Hughes Sturgis of Minnesota and Robin Arlo Hughes Sturgis of Dyersburg, two sisters both of Dyersburg, Codi Lee Surgis and Katie Sue Cross.

Dyersburg Police investigators are looking into the death of a 27-year-old Dyersburg man after hospital personnel contacted them about one of their patients.
According to police, Conner Sturgis, 27, of Dyersburg, Tenn. was transported to Dyersburg Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle. At 1:57 p.m. on Oct. 20, hospital personnel contacted the Dyersburg Police Dept. regarding Sturgis, who they were treating.
Sturgis was airlifted to the Med in Memphis on Oct. 21 where he later died.
DPD Capt. Steve Isbell said the department is not releasing details about the investigation at this time since the case is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
"We are awaiting results from an autopsy that was performed by the Shelby County Medical Examiner's Office," said Isbell. "The nature of his injuries and cause of death are not being released at this time."
