Norman "Polute" LeFort Sr., 83, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Emily Adams LeFort; four sons, Norman LeFort and wife, Leslie, Robby LeFort and wife, Jaimi, Michael LeFort and Glenn LeFort and wife, Robin; one daughter, Denise L. Kiger; one brother, Andrew LeFort Jr.; four sisters, Doris LeFort, Lorraine Pierce, Audry Burrett and Mae Ann Danos; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Benesia Gaspard LeFort; one brother, Rudy LeFort; three sisters, Norma Plaisance, Laura Mae Guidry and Oletta Autin; and one great-grandchild.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the owner of N.J.L. Part and Service in Cut Off.

He was Catholic.
