She was born March 28, 1917 in Heyworth, a daughter of John and Nancy Henderson Day. She married Donald Marshall on June 13, 1933 in Bloomington. He died Nov. 8, 1987.
Surviving are three daughters, Carlin (Edwin) Hospelhorn, Marlene Harper and Valerie Marino; two sons, James (Etsuko) Marshall and Robert (Bonnie) Marshall; 13 grandchildren, Pamela Zuniga, Leo Hisle III, Eddy Hospelhorn, Jared Hospelhorn, Terry Berry, Jeannie Hubbel, Myoshi Bond, Karla Morgan, Roseanna Hiatt, Joy Olson, Jennifer Peterson, Linda Wilson and Tom Harper and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She retired from Illinois State University where she was a food service worker.
She was also a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She will be missed as a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her grandchildren so much.
