Franklin Joseph Rourick, 83, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Cass County Hospice Center in Atlantic, Iowa.

A mass of Christian burial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic. Visitation with family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27th at Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic.

Frank was born February 23, 1927, to Albert and Elizabeth Margaret (Beebe) Rourick on the family farm in Benton Township, Cass County, Iowa, where he attended area country schools.

On January 23, 1951, he was married to Nancy Ann Nelson at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Atlantic, Iowa. Frank worked at Armour and Company in Omaha for several years, and retired in 1988 from Atlantic Municipal Utilities.

Frank enjoyed wood restoration and repair, as well as gardening and family activities. Frank's most cherished time was when he was able to spend time with his family, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family dinners, events, graduations, birthday's, and holiday outings.

Frank is survived by his wife Nancy of Atlantic; his children, Patrick (Linda) Rourick of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Rebecca (George) Siska of Oxford, New Jersey ,Timothy (Kimberly) Rourick of Boise, Idaho, Teresa (Wayne) Klyn of Altoona, Iowa, Kelly (Tracy) Rourick of Boise, Idaho, Shawn (Christine) Rourick of Ankeny, Iowa, Thomas (Londa) Rourick of Overland Park, Kansas; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Pearl Mailander of Atlantic, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elizabeth Rourick; his sisters, Mary Ostrander and Dorothy Rourick; and his brothers, Jack, Don, Bob and Dick Rourick.

Memorials may be made to the Cass County Hospice Center in Frank's name.

Hockenberry Family Care in Atlantic, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
