Walter H. Spooner, 58, 252 S. Franklin St., died in his home at 4:15 Friday after a short illness. A Janesville resident most of his life, he had been employed at the Fisher Body plant the past 34 years. The son of William H, and Minnie Munger Spooner, he was born April 3, 1906, in Van Buren, Mich., and was married to Irene Schmeling Nelsen in Edgerton July 11, 1953. A veteran, he served in the Navy during World War II, He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 95. Survivors are his wife and a sister, Mrs. Grace McCann, St. Petersburg, Fla. Another sister, Violet, preceded him in death. Services were held Monday afternoon, the Rev. M. C. Droegemueller, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, officiating. Song service was given by L. W. Gersmehl and Ernest Westendorf. Burial was in Fassett Cemetery, Edgerton. Pallbearers were Richard and Harry O'Leary, Charles Handy, Arthur Ramstad, R. J. Speer and Allan Hopkins.
