Adam Bickelhaupt, well known resident of Mount Vernon, died yesterday at Fordham hospital after an illness of about seven weeks. He had been removed to the hospital seven weeks ago, but hope was held out for his recovery until the last few days. He resided at 422 East Fourth street.
Mr. Bickelhaupt had been a resident of Mount Vernon for thlrty-four years. He was 48 years of age. For twenty years he had been connected with the Howard Hardware company on South Fourth avenue, and for many years was the purchasing agent for that company during the last few years he has been the manager.
He was a member of the Vernon Heights Congregational church and also a member of the Eaat Side Improvement society. He is survived by his wife. Mrs. Llllle Bickelhaupt, and three sons. De-Forest, Benjamin and Cheater: also his mother, Mrs, Henrietta Bickelhaupt. and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Maddux and Miss Henrietta Bickelhaupt, and one brother. Quintine Bickelhaupt
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late residence. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Dumont Clark, of the Vernon Heights Congregational church. Interment, which will be private, will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
