Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, Luis Raymond Pennel and Flora Mary Bennette and her sons, Terry E. Emerson and Randy L. Emerson.
Bettie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ivan L. Emerson, her sons, Brent A. Emerson and Lance R. Emerson, her daughter, Brenda G. (David R.) Dandois, her brother, Robert "Sonny" (Glenda) Pennel, her nephew, Chris Pennel, her niece, Lisa Winfield and eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
Bettie's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation at Salazar Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW, Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. There will be a potluck following the service at the Emerson home at 2201 Diego Pl. SW, Albuquerque, NM. Bettie will be buried at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. Bettie's pallbearers will be Ian Dandois, Ben Benavídes, Jeremey Sandoval, Johnny Grice, Jay Rader and Jason Rader.
