ARCO - Cecil E. Davis, 63, died Monday at the Los River Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born at St. Anthony, November 3, 1900 to Abraham and Rosamond Green Davis. He resided in the St. Anthony area until his marriage to Maud Butt on March 22, 1922 at St. Anthony.
The couple made their home in Ashton for several years where he was engaged in farming. They lived for a short time in Tetonia and Blackfoot and in 1945 moved to Arco where they have resided since.
Mr. Davis worked for Butte County for four years and for the City of Arco until he purchased the Lost River Drive-In three years ago.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
Survivors include his widow, Maud, of Arco and seven children; Mrs. Norma Holt, Mrs. Carol Lee McCurdy, and Donald, all of Arco; Bud E. of Othello, Washington; Mrs. Renee Croy of Artesia, California; Mrs. Carma Van Cleve of Bakersfield, California; and Mrs. Joyce Haney of Kennewick, Washington; one sister, Mrs. Letha Favor of Riverside, California; two half sisters, Deniece and Lois Williams and three half brothers, Ben, Jack, and Glen Williams all of Los Angeles, California; 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two sons preceded him in death, Robert in 1947 while on active duty with the armed services and DeLoy in 1958.
Services are scheduled for Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Arco Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Concluding rites will be conducted following the Arco services at the Teton City Cemetery.
