NAMPA (Special) — Ennis Kyle Altizer, 75, of 217 Davis avenue, a longtime Idaho resident and retired farmer, died Friday afternoon in his home after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Altizer was born Feb. 9, 1880, in Christianburg, Va., and moved to Boise valley in 1906. He homesteaded in the Lower Deer Flat community and later lived in Caldwell and Melba, before moving to Nampa 10 years ago. He was married Sept. 12, 1914, in Boise to Florence Taylor. He also worked as a motorman and conductor for the former Caldwell Traction company, which operated the old interurban rail line from Caldwell to Boise.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Altizer are three sons, Vernon Altizer of Nampa, Robert Altizer of Boise and Sidney Altizer of Lancaster, Calif., and four sisters and eight grandchildren.
Alsip chapel is arranging services.
