Mr. Blattner passed away at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota.
He married Margaret Natalie Almgren on February 14, 1933 in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.
Mr. Blattner was the president of D.H. Blattner & Sons, Inc. a road construction company, until his retirement. He was co-owner of the Blattner Company, an implement dealership in the late 1940s. He also brought radio to Central Minnesota in November 1950 when Albany radio station KASM went on air.
He was also involved in the development of the Albany Golf Course, Mother of Mercy Nursing Home, Waste-Water Treatment Facility in Albany, the athletics fields at St. John's University and St. John's Preparatory School in Collegeville and several land developments in Avon and Albany.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Kenneth Blattner.
