She was a daughter of the late George and M. Goldie (Mellott) Keefer.
Mrs. Shipley was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. She was employed with the former Stanley Clothing Company in the 1940’s, doing seamstress work out of her home. She also owned and operated a ceramic shop from her home.
She was the wife of the late Guy W. Shipley, who departed this life on March 14, 1996, and is survived by four daughters, Mary Witmer of Chambersburg, Freda Weirich of La Plata, MD, Susan Haynes of Georgia, Daisy Arrison of Orrtanna; five sons, Boyd E. Shipley of Osburn, ID, William G. Shipley of East Waterford, Donald L. Shipley of Ft. Loudon, Richard H. Shipley of Rouzerville, and Alvin R. Shipley of Edenville, PA; one sister, Edna Funk of Greencastle; 27 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, one great granddaughter, five brothers, four sisters.
