Robert F. Adolf, 83, of Buhl and formerly of Hagerman, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at the Magic Valley Regional Medical Center.

He was born March 9, 1915, at Pleasant Valley to M. L. and Mary Kaster Adolf. He attended grade school there and graduated from American Falls High School in 1933. He also attended Idaho State College. In 1935, he moved with his family to the Clover area where he met and married Irene Meyer on June 27, 1937. They farmed in the Buhl, Castleford area 18 years before moving to Hagerman where they raised beef cattle for 35 years. In 1990, they retired and moved to Buhl. He was a lifetime active member in the Lutheran Church, holding leadership positions in the church, Lutheran Laymens League, choir, Parochial School Board, Hagerman District School Board, Hagerman Lions Club, Hagerman Volunteer Fireman, Hagerman Cattlemans Association and the 71 Livestock Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Irene, of 61 years; three children, Anita (Toby) Fewkes of Portland, Ore., Carol Johnson of Missoula, Mont., and Rev. Donald (Darcy) Adolf of Haven, Kan.; nine grandchildren, LaQuita (Gary) Bengtson, Dawn (Mike) Eluharty, Lacy (Joe) Garland, Kit (Viola) Johnson, Mary Johnson, Michael Johnson, Stacy, Brandy, and Robert Adolf; nine great-grandchildren; one uncle, Arthur Kaster of Buhl; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Otto B. and Eric C. Adolf; a sistr, Helena Williamson; a son, Robert; and a grandson, Daniel.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Buhl with Rev. Mark Christ of Clover officiating. Burial will follow at the Hagerman Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Farmer Funeral Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Clover Trinity Lutheran School and may be left a the funeral.
