Clyde Pettygrove
GENOA, Wis. - Clyde Pettygrove, 72, of Genoa passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15. 2002, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in La Crosse.
He was born in Cedar, Minn., on Dec. 22, 1929, to John and Georgia (Reed) Pettygrove.
He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. He was a plumber, farmer, drag racer and our hero.
He was married to Barbara Bjergum on Jan. 24, 1976.
His four children and one stepchild, will carry the sorrow of this tremendous loss everyday, Clive (Audrey) Pettygove of La Crosse, Clyde (Shirley) Pettygrove of La Crosse, Cheri Massie of West Salem, Angela (Dan) Wardwell of Prairie du Chien and Dawn Rodriquez of West Salem.
A wonderful Grandfather to seven grandchildren, who will miss their Poppy dearly.
He will be sadly missed by his sisters and brothers, George (Jan) Pettygrove of La Crosse, John "Pat" Pettygrove of La Crosse, Pauline (Richard) Scholl of Onalaska, Cleo (Donald) Bell of La Crosse, Elaine Betz of La Crosse, Kay Bell of Holmen, and Sally Vincent of Holmen.
His treaured smile and beaming eyes will be missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy and Gary Graw of La Crosse, Linda Odya of La Crosse, Ann (Rich) Samland of Rockland, Geri Bjergum (Paul) of La Crosse, Collene (Larry) Cartwright of La Crosse, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The heavens have opened

for the loss we will feel
without you by our side.
A wake will be held at Sime Funeral Home in Readstown on Monday, Aug. 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral will be held at Sime Funeral Home in Readstown on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m.
