John P. Pettygrove, 68, of La Crosse died Sunday, June 12, 2011, in Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse, Wis.
He was born on March 17, 1943, to John and Georgia (Reed) Pettygrove.
John worked for many years for Joe Harter Co. until his retirement as a truck driver. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends.
He is survived by three sisters; Pauline Scholl of Onalaska, Kay Bell of Holmen, and Cleo Bell of La Crosse. He is further survived by the nieces and nephews that looked after “Uncle John”, Patty Hull, Tim (Sharon) Scholl, and Harvey Scholl, and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Clyde, George “Joe”, Bobby and Le Roy Pettygrove; three sisters, Marie Gage, Elaine (Scholl) Betz and Sally Vinson; six brothers-in-law, Richard Scholl, Ronald and Donald Bell, Harvey H. Scholl, Robert Gage and George Betz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 18, in the Blaschke & Schneider Funeral Home, 1501 West Ave. S., La Crosse. The Rev. Ted Dewald will officiate with burial to be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, La Crosse. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.
