"MORTUARY RECORD.

Eliza Smith, daughter of James and Anna Smith, was born near Pleasant Lake, Ind., Nov. 10, 1849, and departed this life in Waterloo, Ind., Nov. 2, 1917, aged 67 years, 11 months and 22 days.

At the age of 19 years she was united in marriage to Isaiah Smith, to which union three children were born: Etha Nora, Mrs. Edna Benner, and Mrs. (sic) the first two having preceded their mother in death.

Early in life Mrs. Smith united with the M. E. church, at the old union church east of Pleasant Lake. After coming to Waterloo she attended the Presbyterian church for a time but was obliged to discontinue any church attendance on account of poor health.

For about three years she has been afflicted and has continued to grow weaker through pain and suffering, till it pleased the Great Disposer of all events to remove her from all pain.

There remain to mourn one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Woodruff, of Goshen, Ind.; one daughter, Mrs. Neva Darby of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Mervin Darby and Ruth Shire, together with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Darby home Nov. 5, Rev. Beauchamp officiating. Burial at the Pleasant Lake cemetery."
