Isaiah Newton, son of Snider and Rachel Craft, died April 18, 1887, aged 31 years, 5 months and 3 days. His disease was Scrofula, caused by a bruise of the leg about 17 years ago. He leaves a mother, five brothers, one sister and numerous friends to mourn their loss. But we trust their loss is his eternal gain; for to be with Christ is best. He bore his sickness with marked resignation and Christian fortitude. While on his death-bed he evidenced the fact of his confidence and only trust in Christ as a Savior in expressions of love for him. We trust the Lord will bless this dispensation of his Providence to the good of all who mourn; especially to the aged mother who feels her loss so deeply. His remains were followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends to the Bethel cemetery, in which they were interred, Elder Barker officiating in the funeral services.
