DUMAS — Kellie D. Cox, 42, formerly of Dumas, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tommy Spencer officiating. Celebration of life services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Messiah's House in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas.

Kellie was born Feb. 2, 1971, in Dumas, and was raised by Don and Mae Adams. She was educated in Dumas, where she graduated high school and continued on to receive an associate's degree in nursing from Amarillo College.

Kellie was united in marriage to Michael Cox on Dec. 10, 2005. She had been employed by Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center in Amarillo, where she worked in the Community Living Center. Kellie enjoyed nursing, cooking, baking and planting flowers in the garden, but most of all she loved caring for others.

Kellie was very involved in the cure for cancer, and although she was unable to walk at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, she was present through Team Kellie. Kellie had lots of family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.

Kellie was preceded in death by her father, Don Adams, and a brother, Gregory Adams.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Cox of Amarillo; three sons, Lance Fisk and wife Jennifer, Eric Fisk and Emily and Kelton Fisk, all of Dumas; two stepdaughters, Amber Minkley and Ann Christian Cox, both of Claude; her mother, Mae Adams; her grandfather, Bill Sosebee; and five grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to Amarillo College Foundation for nursing scholarships, P.O. Box 447, Amarillo, TX 79178.
