Carrie Waterbury Atwell, widow of Rev. James L. Atwell, Methodist pastor who for 43 years was a member of the Troy Conference, died yesterday at Bennington,Vt.
Mrs. Atwell had spent many years in Troy and vicinity communities where her husband had pastorates. The late Mr. Atwell was at one time pastor of Grace Methodist Church in Troy, and also served at Watervliet, Waterford, Middelbury, Cobleskill, Canajoharie, Westport, Whitehall, Hudson Falls, Williamstown, Mass. and Fair Haven, Vt. He retired from his last pastorate at South Olens Falls. He died in 1919.
Since Mr. Atwell's death, Mrs. Atwell had made her home with her son, Richard W. Atwell, 217 Union Street, Bennington, from where the funeral will be held Christmas Day at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Albany Rural Cemetery
