Mrs. Lilmer Scott McPherson, age 83 of Laurinburg passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Multitudes Church officiated by Rev. Opie Swails. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Lilmer was the daughter of the late Jim Scott and Hattie Strickland Scott, born April 11, 1930 in Dillon County, South Carolina. She worked as a cook with Abbott Laboratories retiring after many years of service. Before her illness, she attended Multitudes Church, enjoyed cooking, loved flowers and gardening, bird watching and fishing. She was a precious, loving mother and grandmother that will truly be missed.
She was also preceded in death by sons, Jimmy Lee Britt and Vance Leon McPherson; brothers, Ernest Scott, Joe Scott, Tommy Scott, James Scott, Lonnie Scott, Mac Scott, Colon Scott, Charlie Scott; sisters, Lula Mae Leviner, Thelma Leviner and Lizzie Leviner.
Surviving are her children, sons, Johnny Britt of Laurinburg, Albert Britt and wife Cindy of Winston, GA, Dave McPherson and wife Mandy of Laurinburg; her daughters, Nancy Winburn and husband Bo of Laurinburg, Louise Britt of Laurinburg; twenty six grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
