Juliaette was named after her grandmother Julia M (Caldwell) Bius, her mother Bessie Ann just added the "ette" to Julia, but everyone called her "Jette".
Her father Edwin died at a young age and when her mother remarried to James Cunningham, she and her sister "Grace" moved to Florida and was raised there by their mother and step-father.
