Funeral services for Reese Hood will be held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Flenniken. Interment will follow at St. Rest Cemetery in Arcadia. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.
Reese was born December 29, 1935 in Ruston, Louisiana and he passed away peacefully October 14, 2013 in Minden, Louisiana. Reese was employed by Minden Housing Authority as Executive Director. He was formerly employed by Tide Craft, Jamieson Wise and Martin, Martin Timber, Coca Cola for 17 years and Peoples Bank as internal auditor. Reese was avid hunter and outdoor sportsman. He also did model railroading, photography, and woodworking. He also loved gardening and raising Bob White Quail.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Arma Hood.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Johnston Hood of Sibley, son Michael Hood and wife Kim of Oregon, daughters Lisa Romroy of Iowa, Kelly Farnsworth of Oregon, and four grandchildren, special niece and nephew Lisa and Scott Johnston of Minden, sisters-in-law Brenda Johnston of West Monroe and Florence Johnston of Shreveport, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins..
Pallbearers will be Dan Grantham, Robert McKenzie, Robert Jones, Jeff Whaley, Jessie Morrison, and Scott Johnston.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Maintenance Staff of Minden Housing Authority.
