She was born Dec. 15, 1920, to Roy and Helen (Yerke) Anderson. On Aug. 12, 1949, in Riley, she married Donald Q. Hubbs. He died Nov. 9, 1998.
She was a secretary at Perkins Oil Co. and McGill Metal Products, both in Marengo, before her marriage.
She and her husband owned and operated Marengo Canning Co. from 1949 to 1964 and Hubbs Greenhouse from 1949 until their retirement in 1978.
She was a member of the Riley Methodist Church, as well as its former pianist.
Survivors include five nieces and nephews, Kim Pollnow, Cary (Dolores) Mallory and Ronald (Susan) Hubbs, all of Marengo, Larry (Linda) Hubbs of California and Gordon (Liz) Hubbs of Missouri. She also is survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Mallory.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Highway, Marengo. Visitation will continue from 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, until the 12:30 p.m. funeral at the Marengo United Methodist Church, 119 E. Washington St., Marengo. The Rev. Steven Bullmer will officiate. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois would be appreciated.
