Spent All of Life in Delaware County. Funeral on Sunday.

Charles Nelson Turner, lifelong resident of Manchester and Delaware county, died at his home in West Manchester Friday, Oct. 1, 1943, after a long period of enfeeblement.

Funeral services were held at the Gill funeral home here Sunday afternoon in charge of the Rev. Charles E. Mason. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery.

Mr. Turner, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Salem Turner, was born in Manchester Nov. 5, 1963. He grew to manhood here and was united in marriage with Miss Phoebe Shaw on Jan. 27, 1886. They established their home on a farm near Manchester and followed the occupation of farming until seven years ago, when Mr. Turner's ill health prevented continuance of this work. They then came to Manchester.

Surviving Mr. Turner are his widow, who is in discouraging health; and the following children; Mrs. Clifford Baell of Marion, Mrs. Ada Kelly and Leslie Turner of Manchester, Mrs. Floyd Noyes of Dubuque, Jay and Walter Turner of Strawberry Point, and Bert Turner of Palisades, Colo.

Other survivors are 13 grandchildren; one brother, George Turner, of Manchester; and three sisters; Mrs. Fred Ellis of Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. Cora Huyck of Wisconsin and Mrs. Will Sternhagen of Hopkinton. One daughter, Mrs. Paul Lewis, died in Cedar Rapids early this year.

Mr. Turner had spent his entire life in this community, and was held in the highest esteem by friends and neighbors. His passing brings a great sorrow to the widow and children, who have the profound sympathy of many friends.
