BARNEVELD - Gertrude E. Thomas, age 65, of Barneveld, Wisconsin, died on Saturday, May 25, 1991, in Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. The former Gertrude Rikli was born in Clyde Township on January 26, 1926, to John and Lela (Weber) Rikli. She was married to Lavern L. Thomas on May 9, 1958, and the couple lived in the Highland, Dodgeville and Blue Mounds areas.

Mr. Thomas preceded her in death on February 4, 1983. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl Rikli; and a sister, Mrs. Roselle Tobias.

She was a member of the Barneveld American Legion Post Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons; five daughters; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a step-daughter; two brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 29, 1991, in the BARNEVELD LUTHERAN CHURCH. Pastor Bob Twiton will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in Highland, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held at the LULLOFF-PETERSON FUNERAL HOME, Dodgeville, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Wednesday.
