James Edmond Berigan was born on April 28, 1927 in Lakewood, Ohio, a western suburb of Cleveland and has a younger sister Janet. His parents were James Edmond and Margaret Josephine (nee Duesler) Berigan.
His early years were spent west of the Cuyahoga River. Later he moved with his parents to his grandparent's house on E. 90th St.
He graduated from Thomas Edison HS in 1945 and served in the Army Air Corp.
Jim was 25 when he married Margaret "Peg" Walsh on April 26, 1952 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cleveland and raised 4 children living in Eastlake, Ohio.
Jim and Peg were living in Eastlake & had been married 42 years when Peg passed away on May 24, 1994 from peritonitis at Lake West Hospital in Willoughby at age 67. Services were held at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in Eastlake.
Jim is of the Catholic faith and was very active in the church.
Jim worked as a teamster for about 40 years until he retired in 1989.
As of Sept. 2013, he has nine grandchildren and siix great-grandchildren.
Jim is 6' tall with brown hair and green eyes.

JAMES EDMUND BERIGAN, 86, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 11, 2013, at Stein Hospice Services.
He was born on April 28, 1927, in Lakewood to the late James and Daisy (Duesler) Berigan.
James was a proud World War II Veteran of the Army Air Corp. He served his country from Feb. 7, 1946 to March 14, 1947. He resided at the Ohio Veterans Homes for five years.
James was a member of St. Justin Martyr Church of Eastlake, the American Legion, Teamsters Local 52, and Holy Name Society. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
James is survived by his three sons, Deacon Patrick (Joan) Berigan, Michael (Susie) Berigan, Timothy (Diane) Berigan; one daughter, Sister Mary Berigan SND.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Ann Hochevar; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Peg" (Walsh) Berigan in 1994 and an infant son, Joseph Berigan.
Friends may call on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral services at 11:30 a.m. at St. Justin Martyr, 35701 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake. Father Kevin Liebhardt will be officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date in Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
