Ruth L. Menear, 93, Berlin, died Oct. 11, 2013 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born Sept. 17, 1920 in Berlin, a daughter of Francis A. and Mary J. (Coleman) Maust. Preceded in death by parents; husband John Menear; brothers: Eugene, Robert, Ward, and Donald; sisters: Pauline, Marion, and Ella; great-granddaughter Becca Rae Berkey; great-grandson Bill Taylor and great-great-grandson Dante Taylor. Survived by her daughter Donna Charlton and husband Jerry, Friedens; granddaughters: Debbie (Chad) Koval, Diane (Victor) Gross, and Darlene Berkey; great-grandchildren: Shawn and Luke Watson, Kyle (Mandi) and Dylan Koval, Danielle Taylor, Leah Gross, Todd, Quinn, and Brady Berkey; great-great-grandsons: Macin Watson and Anthony Taylor; sister Evelyn Ringler and brother Dwight Maust, both of Berlin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a 1939 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and worked for Snyder of Berlin for 36 years. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, crossword puzzles, gardening, playing musical instruments, and loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Rev. Sherman H. Berkey officiating. Interment Berlin I.O.O.F.
