Mr. Carl H. Meurer of San Antonio passed away on Wednesday October 9, 2013 at his home in San Antonio at the age of 89 years.

Carl was born March 18, 1924 in Fredericksburg, Texas to Charles and Meta Tatsch Meurer. Carl married Rose Marie Jenschke June 5, 1950 in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg and she preceded him in death, he later married Audrey Sperry and she also preceded him in death. Carl served in the United States Army during WWII.

Carl Meurer is survived by five children and spouses: Herb and Beckie Meurer of Devine, TX Theresa Hosek of San Antonio, TX Vincent Meurer of Bandera, TX Agnes and Paul Eddlemon of Walton, KY Martha and Otis Clawson of Cedar Creek, TX Nineteen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren Brothers and spouse: Hugo and Susie Meurer of Austin, TX Norbert Meurer of Corpus Christie, TX Sister-in-law: Lillian Meurer of Fredericksburg, TX

Along with his wives and parents, Carl was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Nora Nebgen, John Meurer, Elsie Albrecht, Alex Meurer, and Otto Meurer

The body will lie in state in St. Gregory's Catholic Church in San Antonio, TX on Monday October 14th from 5 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary Vigil service at 6 p.m.

On Tuesday October 15th the body will lie in state in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:45 a.m. with a Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, TX with Rev. Jim Harnan officiating.

Graveside services and interment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Fredericksburg, TX.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer Association, or to the charity of one's choice.
