Louis H. "Lou" Walker, 89, Palmetto, FL died June 20, 2002.

He was born June 18, 1913, in Paris, TN and came to Manatee County in 1956 from St. Albans, WV.

He was a salesman for MetLife Insurance Company for 30 years and attended Ellenton United Methodist Church. He received the MetLife President's Award for leading agents in 1996. He was president of Junior Chamber of Commerce in St. Albans and a member of the Lions & Rotary clubs in St. Albans. He was an avid shuffleboard player.

Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Lee Hayes of Palmetto, FL; sons Jim of Lakeland, FL and Jay of Pensacola, FL; sisters Adele Jones of Winter Park, FL and Morell Harbison of Tallahassee, FL; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1-2 PM Monday at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Mansion Chapel, with a service to follow at 2 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Mansion Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, FL, 34238.
