Edward Albert Boknecht was born on September 19, 1895, in Jackson County, Indiana. He was the son of Charles Frederick Ernest and Anna Jenny Roberts Boknecht.

He had the following siblings: Carlotte J. Boknecht; Elizabeth M. Boknecht; Cleveland Boknecht; August C. Boknecht; John W. Boknecht; Louis D. Boknecht; George Boknecht; and Esther Boknecht

Edward Albert Boknecht and Bertha May Burns were married on November 28, 1917, in Jackson County, Indiana.

They had the following children: Marvin Boknecht and Mary Boknecht.

Edward A. Boknecht Dies – Rites Wednesday

Edward Albert Boknecht, 61, Cortland R1, widely-known farmer and life-long resident of Jackson county, died Monday afternoon in Schneck Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for two weeks, having been admitted to [the] hospital on January 21 for medical treatment.

Born in this county September 19, 1895, Mr. Boknecht was the son of the late Frederick and Anna Roberts Boknecht.

On November 28, 1917, he was married in this county to Bertha May Burns, who survives.

Mr. Boknecht was a member of White's Chapel Evangelical United Brethren Church and was a prominent member of his community with his death mourned by a large number of friends and relatives.

Survivors include the widow; two children, Marvin L. Boknecht, Cortland r1, and Miss Mary L. Boknecht at home; two brothers, August Boknecht, Brownstown R1; and George Boknecht, Cortland R1; one sister, Mrs. Esther Wheeler, of Brownstown, and two grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Voss Mortuary and at 2 p.m. from White's Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Adkins, pastor of First Evangelical United Brethren Church here, in charge. Burial in White's Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Voss Mortuary after 7 p.m. tonight.
