Claude Parcell, Husband of Sentinel Correspondent, Died Sunday Evening

Claude Parcell, a farmer of 10 miles southwest of Edina and husband of The Sentinel correspondent for Mt. Carmel, died at his home at 8:30 o'clock Sunday evening, Aug. 30, 1964. He was 71 years old and had been ill for several years.

Funeral services were at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home here with the Rev. Allen L. Vancil of Edina officiating. Entombment was in the Linville Mausoleum.

Mr. Parcell is survived by his wife, two sons, Roy B. Parcell of near Rutledge and William K. Parcell of Kansas City, and a daughter, Stella B., Mrs. Arthur Douglass, Jr., of southwest of Edina. He also leaves three grandchildren, Deborah, Wynn and Byron Douglass, two sisters, Clara, Mrs. Tom Lockett, of La Grange and Mary, Mrs. Cecil Wharton, Sr., of Shelbina, and a brother, Clyde Parcell, of the home, and several nieces and nephews.

A son of Hanson Dillno and Nancy Conder Parcell, he was born Dec. 18, 1892, in Knox County. He was married to Dell Nicol in Edina Feb. 11, 1917, and they had lived at the present home in the Mt. Carmel vicinity 43 years of their married life, which is the home place of Mr. Parcell's parents and where the brother, Clyde, has also made his home with them.

He was preceded in death by his father July, 1907, his brothers, Ernie, who died in infancy, Carl, who died when a young man and a year after the death of his father, and Paul, in 1915 at the age of 16 years.
