Harry Laverne Roberts, 83, of Charlotte, died peacefully in his sleep on October 5, 2013. He is now with his Lord and Savior for eternity.

Harry was born in Marengo, Iowa, on August 2, 1930, the son of John and Pearl (nee Aiken) Roberts. He married Josephine Ballard on June 15, 1952. They lived in Hartwick, Iowa, where he was custodian at the HLV school, the same school from which he graduated. The last 9 years he has lived in Charlotte, NC, with his daughter, Shirley and son-in-law Wayne Hackbarth. There he attended Calvary Church and enjoyed his men's Bible study class.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Shirley, son-in-law Wayne Hackbarth, granddaughters Kelly Trout and her husband Darrell, Carla Sinteff and her husband Josh, and one great granddaughter Madison Alexis Trout. Harry loved his family and was so proud of his new granddaughter. Harry had a great sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew him.
