"She came alone on a sailing ship – the trip took 30 days – and she never got sick."( per Eugene Hughes, grandson). Eugene also reported that Catherine was 4 feet 9 inches tall. Catherine married William Jameson in 1872. They had 6 children, "only 3 survived to adulthood". When her husband died in 1889, Catherine ran a boarding house in their Harrison, NJ, home (226 Warren Street).
