Married Blanche Marie Kuhl in July 1928 in Strum. Both buried in St. Paul's in Strum.

He was born in South Dakota, but spent most of his life in Strum and Whitehall. He was a ski jumper, loved baseball and singing. He graduated from Mondovi High School and then Mankato College. He was Tremp Co Clerk for twelve years.

He traveled twice to Norway and enjoyed ancestry, family research. He wrote the History of Strum and Town of Unity.
