Mrs Erling (Carla) Nymo, 62 of Strum died Saturday at Osseo Wisconsin Memorial hospital after a short illness.

She had been Village Clerk here since 1964 and was Treasurer of the Strum Credit Union. The daughter of Alfred and Mary Garson Matson, she was born In rural Strum on June 15, 1914. She attended Osseo High School and married Erling Nymo. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and it's organizations.

Survivors are her husband, three sons, Jon of Maple Plain, Minnesota, Rolf
Of Phienix, AZ and Dr. Mark Nymo of a Crystal, Minn.; eight grandchildren, two brothers Roy Matson of Strum and Norval Matson of Phoenix, and a sister Mrs Stanley (Marion) Berg of Strum.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 on Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Rev. Luther Monson officiating. Burial will be in the Strum Lutheran cemetery.


Married Erling Nymo June 16, 1934

Erling was born 5th of April 1906 in Gronning, Norway. He came to the US in the 1920s with his cousin Ole Gronning. They settled in Dallas, WI near some relatives. (In 1930 census he listed as a lodger with Elling Gilbertson)
He left Dallas and came to Northern Trempealeau county as a Norwegian speaking salesman with Watkins. Here he met Carla.
