In the death of Abraham Borger, which occurred Jan. 6, at the home of his daughter, near Dempseytown, Venango county loses one of her earliest settlers and a good citizen. The deceased was born in Lehigh county, Pa., Sept. 17, 1808, being therefore in his 87th year.
Sixty years ago Mr. Borger came to Venango county and located on a farm near Sunville, where he has since resided. In 1836 he was united in marriage to Anna Mary Ware, who survives at the age of 79 years. The result of this union was six sons and three daughters, of whom four sons and two daughters survive. Mr. H.C. Borger, of this city, was a son of deceased.
Mr. Borger was a member of the Baptist church. Upright and honest in all his dealings, he was respected by all who knew him.
Funeral occurred from the house of Mrs. Cheers, near Dempseytown, at 1 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday.
