Wadsworth's father was the great great grandson of Elder William Brewster, the Pilgrim colonist leader and spiritual elder of the Plymouth Colony, and passenger aboard the Mayflower.
He married on May 24, 1759 at Lebanon, New London County, Connecticut, Jerusha Newcomb, born January 06, 1740/41 at Lebanon, New London County, Connecticut and died on February 09, 1813 at Chatham, New York. She was the daughter of Silas Newcomb and Submit Pinneo and a Great-Great Granddaughter of Governor William Bradford (1590-1657) of the Plymouth Colony and a passenger on the Mayflower.
Wadsworth served as a corporal in Capt. John Skinner's company, Col. Jonathan Latimer's regiment, Connecticut troops. This regiment served in Gen. Poor's brigade. He was at the Battle of Saratoga when Burgoyne surrendered, October 17, 1777. SAR Patriot #: P-120744
Wadsworth lived at Lebanon, CT, served as a selectman in 1792 and was a deacon of the Lebanon Church.
