Mr. Berndsen was a retired firefighter for the City of Cincinnati. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was married to Gertrude A. Welsh Berndsen. They had five children : Vincent, Gregory, Judy, Joan and Francis.
Note : Patti Jacko is Mr. Berndsen's niece. He had two brothers who preceded him in death : George William and Alfred Charles (Patti's father). His sister, Helen Bagby, passed away in August of 2004.
