Mr. Sheets was privately employed as an airplane mechanic and inspector. He was a World War II Air Force veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen E.; three sons, Kenneth, Richard and Daniel, all of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Karen Sanders, of Fort Wayne, and Deborah Weachock, of New Haven; one brother, Bev, of Gallen, Mich.; and three sisters, Delight Johnson, of Walla Walla, Wash., Janice Myers, of Angola, and Carol Cochran, of Ocala, Fla.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at D.O. McCombs & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., with calling there from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are gifts to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
