Mrs. Hannah Louise Marsden, wife of John Marsden, died at the home of her husband on East Main street at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening, after one week's illness, due to pneumonia. Mrs. Marsden was a daughter of David and Anna Cartright, and was born in Claysburg April 4, 1853. She lived in Claysburg April 4, 1855. She lived then, after the death of her father in the same year, she went to Martinsburg to live with friends. In 1876 she was united in marriage with John P. Marsden, of Martinsburg, at which place they established their new home and continued to live until fifteen years ago they moved with their family to Roaring Spring. Mrs. Marsden had since girlhood been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and while in Roaring Spring she was a mos earnest and faithful ember, giving her best efforts to the welfare of the local church's progress. She was also a very loving and devoted wife and mother, never neglecting her home duties for any outside pleasure. The surrounding neighborhood will greatly miss her willing and helpful services in the hour of need and distress. She is survived by her husband, John Marsden, of Eat Main street, and nine children, namely: Howard, Roy, Mrs. William Smith and Mrs. Mary Weierick, of Roaring Spring; Harry, Mrs. Pearl Ainsworth and Mrs. Ida Keller, of Altoona; William, of Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Anna Biddle, of Cleveland, o. Also surviving are a sister and brother, Mrs. Mary Stinger, of Johnstown, and James Cartwright, of Juniata. The funeral services will be conducted by Rev. E.L. Eslinger in the Methodist Episcopal church at 10 o'clock Friday morning. Interment will be made in Greenlawn cemetery.
